Vance got up early and uploaded yesterday's blog while Pat slept in. Then we had breakfast: eggs with sausage
and bacon. After Pat's shower we left for Ridge Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada, where Joy and I had a timeshare. We left the RV by the security kiosk at the foot of the property. The officer said he would keep an eye on it and called for a shuttle to take us up the hill.

I first took Pat to the Tower building, in the process finding an open suite (while it was being made up before a new arrival). So Pat had an opportunity to see what the Tower suites looked like.

She took a number of pictures out the windows of the Ridge Tahoe property and of the Carson Valley. This longer eastern view was hazy from the smoke of some nearby fires.

We then walked over to the Plaza building and again I was able to find an open (and empty) suite. While the maid cleaned the smaller bedroom we walked in (what was the worst that could happen?) and looked at the living room, kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom.

I then tried to show Pat the eighth floor hot tubs but didn't have a key card to let us in and no one with a card came by.

Next, we checked out the outdoor/indoor swimming pool, deli, store (where she purchased some postcards), wallyball/handball court and registration area. After all this, Pat had a pretty good idea of the Ridge Tahoe layout and amenities, and kept our camera busy as you can see from some of these photos. Security then shuttled us down to the door of our RV.

We drove to the west side of the ridge for views of Lake Tahoe. Then back down Kingsbury Grade and took Hwy. 50 to explore a bit of the east side of the lake. Lunched at Coyote Grill and went next door to Safeway for a few items. Knew we weren't in California anymore, as Safeway had video lottery and slot machines!

Parked lakeside off Lakeview Road and sat on a bench to watch the world go by. Folks picnicking, biking, kayaking, swimming (safe/shallow beach), playing volleyball, sunning themselves on the beach, taking in the view.

Took photos of the mountains, Casinos, and a sternwheeler tour boat going past. Also captured wildlife: ground squirrels and geese. Had fun taking pictures.

Returned to Tahoe Valley Campground to relax. Very pleasant under the tall pines.
Seen along the way: South Lake Tahoe has busy 4 lanes of traffic with a 5th lane in the middle

for turning into various businesses (Vance remembers just 2 lanes here) -- Daggett Summit at the top of Kingsbury Grade, at 7,334 feet -- They grow big boulders here -- Thai One On, restaurant & bar -- Wide Awake, Conscious Cafe, whatever that means -- Cloud 9 Wedding Chapel.
Ended at Tahoe Valley Campground
