On the Road - Day 50

Cool night, slept well. Had a super breakfast. Rich fried up his Dad's recipe of hashbrowns to go with the scrambled eggs, bacon and scones. Nothing beats eating out of doors.

Viv and Eileen headed to Reno. Pat played rousing games of sharp toothed "black shark" and "crawdad" (pinching claws) with Stevie and Dennis. "AAH-ah-h-h-h, they got me!" The boys headed out with Mike to do some fishing. Pat took some photos of the RV park and got a "card full" message from her camera.

Rich spent the morning reading, as did Pat. I moved my camp chair behind a tree to break the breeze. Deep in the plot, I was startled by a dashing chipmunk who, while running up the tree trunk, paused just at my eye level. We were eye to eye admiring one another! Then off it went. Vance worked on the computer (sounds like I was fixing it!), and fixed lunch while Pat did puzzles on the computer. Nice relaxing morning. Got some rain, which cleared up before supper time.

Fixed soft shell tacos for supper, with very fresh tomatoes from Mike & Eileen's neighbor. Tasty/yummy. Rich had churned fresh strawberry ice cream and put it in the trailer's freezer, which didn't make it cold enough to get solid. So Viv is borrowing space in the bottom of the Little Bear's office freezer tonight. We'll eat homemade ice cream tomorrow. Had frozen fruit bars instead.

We all enjoyed watching Rich and the boys as they got into a heavy game of UNO. Dennis was lucky, drawing once to get the right color or number, while Rich often had to keep drawing, and drawing more cards. Stevie could be cunning with his strategy, eliciting an "Oh, no" or silly threats from his uncle. And Uncle Rich kept laying down red cards when he knew Stevie didn't have any to play, and would have to draw more cards. The laughter and giggles lifted everyone's spirits.

Ended at Little Bear RV Park, Blairsden, CA [Did not move RV today.]
